Perkins Eastman, a Fairfield County firm that has won awards internationally, was selected to design the assisted living facility on Saxon Woods Road that is set to open its doors to residents in February of next year.

The firm, which boasts 13 different offices around the world, will design a location that includes 115 residences of varying design. Rooms will range from studio to two-bedroom apartments. Ninety-five of the units are earmarked for assisted living, while 20 are reserved for those needing memory care.

Outside of living spaces, Perkins and Eastman will design the other amenities that will be featured at the Ambassador of Scarsdale, including a performing arts studio, community fireplaces, the children’s playroom, library, recreation room and beauty salon. There will also be multiple dining areas, including a signature restaurant with an outdoor patio, a bistro and a bar.

Recently, salespeople have been providing 3-D floor plans for seniors interested in calling the Ambassador of Scarsdale their future home. According to officials from the facility, they are developing an interactive community map to showcase each level in the building.

“Our sales team uses personal computers or iPads to show customers various options available. People can view the building layout virtually with one click,” John Ralosky, COO of the community’s management consultant, said. “When a floor plan is clicked a 3-D floor plan rendering will appear along with specific information about the room’s features.” “The Ambassador will offer a level of luxury living and amenities not typically found in assisted living communities.”
