SCARSDALE, N.Y. -- Briarcliff Manor resident Lauren Weixeldorfer is behind Scarsdale’s first Painting with a Twist studio.
The sip and paint studio, where customers can discover their inner artist, is set to open Thursday, Nov. 12 at 365 Central Park Ave. in the Archway Plaza next to California Pizza Kitchen. (Select classes going on now.)
Prior to the Scarsdale opening, Weixeldorfer , who grew up in North Salem, worked in the franchise development department at the Painting with a Twist corporate office in Mandeville, La. She said opening her own studio was the perfect opportunity to bring the concept --and the company culture she came to love -- back to Westchester.
In keeping with the founders’ fundraising philosophy, Weixeldorfer is passionate about supporting the local community. With the Painting with a Purpose program, Painting with a Twist of Scarsdale will donate 50 percent of proceeds to local organizations and charities each month.
The studio will hold its first Painting with a Purpose event prior to the grand opening on Sunday, Nov. 8 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. with proceeds going to Special Operations Warrior Foundation. This is part of the company's nationwide effort to honor veterans throughout November.
