Scarsdale Offers Two Hours Of Free Parking To Encourage Local Shopping

SCARSDALE, N.Y. -- Holiday shoppers can think local in Scarsdale with the village offering free two-hour parking in the downtown area from Dec. 19 to Dec. 27.

Visitors to the downtown area will find specifically marked locations -- bagged parking meters -- at locations throughout the downtown center to make it easier to visit their favorite shops.

"The Village hopes this initiative will attract residents and visitors to the Village Center to shop local this holiday season," said Assistant Village Manager Ingrid Richards.

In order to ensure maximum access to parking spaces, the Scarsdale Police Department will enforce the two-hour parking limit.

"Hopefully the effort will help promote the many shops in the center and bring new shoppers to the area," Richards added.
