SCARSDALE, N.Y. -- Smashburger is coming to Scarsdale.
The self-proclaimed fastest growing "better burger" restaurant is set to open its newest location on Monday, Dec. 9 at the Midway Shopping Center at 913 Central Park Ave. in Scarsdale. The restaurant, and operated by Smash Partners, "brings its juicy burgers that are smashed fresh, served delicious, along with its Haagen-Dazs® shakes, tempting sides and regional menu items crafted to please local’s palates," representatives said.
The company recently hired 45 employees to staff the new location.
“We are excited to continue our expansion throughout the area with our new Smashburger located in Scarsdale,” said Rich Greenstein, partner, Smash Partners, in a release. “Our White Plains location has been very well received. We look forward to offering the same excellent service and top notch burgers, fries and shakes in the Scarsdale area and beyond.”
Smash Partners’ partners – Rich Greenstein, Howard Novick and Ronnie Portnoy – were recently named as 2013 recipients of Smashburger’s Franchisee of the Year Award. The award "recognizes the franchise group nationwide that exemplifies excellence in all areas, demonstrating a drive for success, passion for the brand, extraordinary customer service and attention to detail," representatives said.
Smash Partners currently operates three Smashburger locations in Westchester County in White Plains, Mamaroneck and Pelham Manor and has plans for six more restaurant openings in Westchester in 2014.
“In every Smashburger market, we explore what consumers enjoy eating and then bring those tastes and flavors to our menu in an innovative way,” said Smashburger Founder & Chief Concept Officer Tom Ryan, in the release. “Guests will be excited about the unique burger, chicken sandwiches and salads we’ve created. Additionally, the extensive operations experience of Smash Partners through their work with Dunkin Brands is a great asset for Smashburger as we continue to expand in New York.”
The Scarsdale Smashburger location is set to feature a regional menu created with regional flavors and tastes in mind, including the New Yorker burger.
“We recently opened our 243rd restaurant and are now in four international countries,” said Scott Crane, president and CEO of Smashburger, in the release. “We saw the consumer trend in demand for quality burgers in the fast casual segment a few years ago. Our timing to introduce Smashburger couldn’t have been better. We are especially proud to be working with a great franchise partner like Smash Partners who operate some of our highest performing restaurants. His team has brought tremendous franchise development and operating experience to Smashburger."
