Author, Army Veteran Appearing With His Service Dog At Scarsdale Library

SCARSDALE, N.Y. — Author Luis Carlos Montalvan and his service dog, Tuesday, will make an appearance at the Scarsdale Public Library on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.

Montalvan is a decorated 17-year Army veteran with two Bronze Stars, the Purple Heart, the Army Commendation Medal for Valor and the Combat Action Badge from his time in Iraq.

He wrote about his experiences with Tuesday in the New York Times bestseller "Until Tuesday: A Wounded Warrior & the Golden Retriever Who Saved Him."

Tuesday received the 2013 American Kennel Club Human Fund Award for Canine Excellence -- Service Dog.

Since his honorable discharge as an Army captain in 2007, Montalvan has mentored and trained officers at Fort Benning and served on policy development teams in Washington.

The library is at 54 Olmsted Road in Scarsdale.
