A.G. Williams Painting Co., located in Pelham and Greenwich, and the Rachele Rose Day Spa of Hartsdale were two of the various sponsors of the spelling bee.

“We are so grateful for the support of A. G. Williams Painting Co. and Rachele Rose Day Spa,” Mona Longman, member of the Spelling Bee Committee and the board of trustees of the Friends of the Scarsdale Library said. “These local companies helped make our annual fundraising event a huge success.”

Twenty teams competed for the spelling bee title of “Scarsdale’s Best Speller.” The winner of this year’s spelling bee was the Library Trust Bees – Seth Ross, Terri Simon and Florie Wachtenheim.

The 2014 event raised $18,890. All proceeds of the spelling bee benefit the Friends of the Scarsdale Public Library, which aims to bring public focus to the library's services and needs.
