Caren Baruch-Feldman Hosts Willpower Workshop In Scarsdale

SCARSDALE, N.Y. – Caren Baruch-Feldman is leading a motivational workshop on Jan. 9 at the Scarsdale Library at noon.

Baruch-Feldman, a clinical child psychologist, will review the latest research in habits and willpower to help attendees develop their own positive habits. The lesson will place emphasis on weight loss.

Participants are encouraged to read all or some of the books that will form the basis of the lecture, although it is not mandatory.

These titles are “Willpower: Rediscovering the Greatest Human Strength,” by Roy F. Baumeister and John Tierney; “The Beck Diet Solution: Train Your Brain to Think Like a Thin Person,” by Judith S. Beck; “The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do in Life and Business,” by Charles Duhigg; and “The Willpower Instinct: How Self-Control Works, Why it matters, and What You Can Do to Get More of It,” by Kelly McGonigal.

Baruch-Feldman is a clinical child psychologist who has practiced cognitive behavioral therapy to help children and adults with depression, anxiety, stress, ADHD and weight loss.

She has a private practice in Scarsdale and works part-time as a school psychologist in Westchester County. This is one of three workshops that make up the wellness series “Get Ready to Change…Make It about YES!”

“Got Grit, Got Growth, Got Marshmallows? Increasing Self-Control and Resilience in Our Lives and the Lives of Our Children” will be held on Friday, March 27 at noon. “Helping Decrease Stress and Worry In Our Children and Our Own Lives” will take place on Friday, May 1 at noon.

Registration for both of these sessions will open after the end of the first on Jan. 19
