Meet the Writers With Nick Flynn

Nick Flynn, author of The Ticking is the Bomb, will be on campus December 3, 2012 for the first Meet the Writers reading and discussion of the year.

"I absolutely love Nick Flynn's books and I hope we'll have a great turnout for the event," Mark Nowak, Director of the MFA Program in Writing said. "We want our creative writing students to have the opportunity to read and attend classes and events by this country's most prominent authors. We hope this Nick Flynn's event will give Manhattanville's student authors a chance to learn from the very best."

The reading starts at 7 p.m. in the Ophir Room, Reid Hall. Meet the Writers is hosted by the MFA program and features prominent writers, who come to discuss their art and process with fellow writers and community members.

Flynn earned his Master of Fine Arts in creative writing from New York University. His work includes the memoir, Another Night in Bullshit City, and the poetry collection, Some Ether. Flynn's works also inspired the movie, Being Flynn.

The spring Meet the Writers event will feature the current Pulitzer Prize winner in poetry, Tracy K. Smith.
