Darien Neighbors Oppose Liquor Sales For Noroton Clubhouse

Currently the club, located in the Noroton Bay neighborhood, allows members to bring alcoholic drinks on certain occasions, but believes a proper liquor license would give them greater control over safety issues, said the Darien Times.

On the other side is the Noroton Bay Property Owners Association, who are also concerned with safety and parking issues, The Darien Times reported. More than 50 homeowners have signed a petition against the club's proposal. They are worried about people coming to the club from outside the neighborhood, added the Darien Times.

The next meeting on the issue will be March 29 before the Darien Planning & Zoning Commission.
