The first group, which discusses books with the theme of “Words Around the World,” will meet at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 16, and at 7 p.m. Monday, April 18.
Led by Wendy Archer, the library’s adult services manager, the group will discuss “God Loves Haiti” by Dimitry Léger.
A native of Haiti, Léger’s debut novel melds romance, politics, and religion in a story that traces the fates of three lovers in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and the challenges they face after an earthquake devastates the city.
The Not Your Kids Book Club for Adults, a group for those interested in what young adults are reading, will discuss “The Ear, The Eye and the Arm” by best-selling author Nancy Farmer at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20.
Discussion of the novel will be led by children’s book author Sheela Chari
“The Ear” tells the story of three adventurous children in Zimbabwe, Africa, who escape their parents' heavily guarded mansion to explore the world outside and encounter many dangers.
