SCARSDALE, N.Y. – Great Play, voted best gym and best birthday party place two years in a row by readers of Westchester Family Magazine, and Songs for Seeds, voted best children’s music program by New York Magazine, will host an open house and concert from 11:30 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. Friday at Great Play, 969 Central Park Ave., Scarsdale.
Great Play’s mission is for every child to develop a love of physical activity that will lead to an active, healthy and confident life, whether they choose to pursue competitive athletics or simply play and move for fun.
Great Play’s Great Start program is an introductory motor skills program appropriate for children age 12 months to 3 ½ years. Players, with parental support, enjoy physical exploration and play, and develop a broad base of age-appropriate motor skills in the process. Players advance through four variations of the program (levels A, B, C and D) based on age and stage of development, with skills and activities progressing at each stage.

At the end of class, the students are invited to sing with the band (karaoke style) and play the band’s instruments (guitar, keyboards and drums). Morning and afternoon fall classes are open to children up to age 6 and will be at Scarsdale Synagogue Temples Tremont and Emanu-El.
