SCARSDALE, N.Y. -- Who can resist bunnies and wildlife and just plain fun. That's what residents will find with a visit to the Greenburgh Nature Center in Scarsdale.
The center has an entire lineup of fun events planned for this weekend and through the month for both children and adults.
Sat., March 19, and March 26, 11:30 a.m. Teaching Trails: Weekend Walks for All Ages:
Join the center for a guided trail experience through the woodland forest. The center's specially trained "Trail Ninja" volunteers provide information on trees, plants, wildlife and seasonal changes. Conversation varies each time. An ideal way to get acquainted with the trail system. Program runs approximately 45 minutes. Admission is free.
Sun., March 20, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Great Green EGG-TRAVAGANZA:
It's time to hunt for eggs and learn about bunnies during the center's annual The Great Green EGG-TRAVAGANZA. Visitors can celebrate the spring solstice with a day of seasonal egg-citement! Participate in egg-themed activities, including an environmentally friendly egg hunt – and meet the GNC chickens. Crafts and games run continuously. Refreshments available for purchase. For discounted rate, pre-register online only by Saturday, March 19, 11 p.m.. Early registration rates: Members $5/person, Non-members $10/person. Children under 2 free. Sat., March 26, 2 p.m. Meet the Animals:Join the center for a fun and informative program that allows visitors to get up close and hands-on with some of the Nature Center’s live animals. Concludes with feeding birds of prey. Members $5/person, Non-members $8/person.
Spring Vacation Camp Registration:
Does your child love being outdoors in nature? Enroll them in the Spring Vacation Camp to give them an unforgettable experience. Activities include animal study, nature exploration, games and crafts. Camp is held in half-day sessions: Mon.-Thurs., March 28-31. Click here to register.
