POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Virginia M. Moyer of Poughkeepsie died Saturday, March 12, at River Valley Care Center. She was 84.
Moyer was born on Oct. 22, 1931, in the Bronx to Frank and Elsa (Goerhring) DeGer. She worked as a transporter for St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Arthur Moyer Sr.; a daughter, Linda Figueroa; and her brothers, Frank Deger Jr. and Charles Deger.
Moyer is survived by her daughters, Mary Ann Sorci and husband Carmine, and Katherine M. Moyer; a son, Arthur Jr. of Hyde Park; a sister, Ruth Lauria of Hyde Park; a brother, Walter Deger of Hopewell Junction; and eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 17, from 10-11 a.m. at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, with services following.
Interment will be at Union Cemetery in Hyde Park.
