Naquan Ferguson, 31, had been sentenced in 2014 to eight and a half years in prison as part of a plea deal for his part in the robbery, where he and two other people were accused of stealing five Rolex watches valued at $60,000 apiece, according to Greenwich Time. Ferguson, who is originally from Brooklyn, had been arrested in Texas in 2012 in connection to the robbery, Greenwich Time reported.

After he was given two weeks to settle his affairs following his sentencing, Ferguson booked a ticket to Asia and left the country, according to Greenwich Time. He was eventually picked up by authorities in southern China last month and handed over to the U.S. Marshals Service, who brought him back to the United States, according to Greenwich Time.

Ferguson appeared in court on Wednesday, where a judge set his bail at $1.5 million dollars, with the condition that it can be paid only in cash at the state Superior Court in Stamford, according to Greenwich Time. He will find out what his sentence will be on Sept. 19, and could face a maximum of 60 years in prison for the robbery, Greenwich Time reported.
