As of around 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 4, PSEG Long Island was reporting 22 active outages that were impacting 199 of its 1.17 million customers in Suffolk and Nassau counties.

In Nassau, there were 84 outages reported in North Hempstead, with 37 in Hempstead and less than five in Oyster Bay. In Suffolk, outages were reported in Southampton (36), Brookhaven (24), Huntington (eight), Islip, Riverhead, Smithtown, and Southold.

Complete restoration is expected no later than 1 p.m. on Friday afternoon.

The storm began with rain throughout the Hudson Valley on Thursday, Feb. 3 before turning into a wintry mix overnight.

Officials said that ice accumulations in many areas caused tree limbs to break and fall onto power lines, and that freezing rain and snow in the forecast, the most heavily impacted areas are expected to extend through the weekend.
