SCARSDALE, N.Y. -- An Annual Day of Wellness is among many events offered by JCC Mid-Westchester in October.

A rundown of events is below. 

Inside the College Admissions: Hear the real story behind how college admissions decisions are made from deans and directors of admissions. Monday, Oct. 6 from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Advanced registration required. Open to high school juniors, seniors and parents. 

Joining Creative Conversations on Education: Panel moderated by Cheryl Strauss Einhorn. Come for a current events discussion of visual versus traditional methods of literacy as well as how new technologies can be used to advance education. Tuesday, Oct. 7 from 7:30 p.m. $15 for adults, $12 for teens. 

Jews in the News: Dialogue with journalists Joseph Berger and Gary Rosenblatt who will interview one another regarding their latest books. Thursday, Oct. 23 at 7:30 p.m. $18 for adults, $15 for students.  Annual Day of Wellness / 5K Run & Family Fun Walk: Free activities. $20 for 5K run. Sunday, Oct. 26 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. 

World Politics: Professor Ralph Buultjens – "The U.S. & the World – Will America Continue to be #1?" The first in a series of lectures given by renowned world politics expert Professor Ralph Buultjens. The lecture will be followed by a question and answer session. Monday, Oct. 27 at 11 a.m. $36 for adults, $20 for students. 

Sandwich Generation: Expert panel on aging: Prominent elder care experts will lead a panel discussion on the issues and challenges of taking care of aging parents and other family members, navigating health care systems and where to turn for advice or related services. Tuesday, Oct. 28 at 7 p.m. Prices are $18 and $15.  Bethlehem screening:  “Bethlehem” tells the story of the complex relationship between an Israeli Secret Service officer and his teenage Palestinian informant. Thursday, Oct. 20, two screenings 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. $15 for adults and $12 for students.
