Kiddie Kabaret, Big Truck Day Among Programs At Scarsdale Library

SCARSDALE, N.Y. -- Nancie Schur and her Kiddie Kabaret, the monthly popular program for toddlers ages 1½ to 3½, returns at  10:30 a.m. Tuesday to the Scarsdale Public Library.

The Scarsdale Public Library is at 54 Olmsted Road.

The Scarsdale Public Library is at 54 Olmsted Road.

The program uses puppets and songs, both traditional and original, for the enjoyment of both the children and caregivers.

Later that day, at 4 p.m., the second Big Truck Day with vehicles from the village’s police and fire departments will be at the library.

The event is very popular so parents are encouraged to share a ride with a friend as parking is limited. Parking is available on Brewster Road and attendees can walk through the library pond area.

Play Along with Mother Goose, a program of free play for walkers up to age 24 months, will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday. The session provides an opportunity for toddlers and their caregivers to play and socialize.

At 9:30 a.m. Friday, Baby Free Play will be held for pre-walkers up to age 2.

Lorraine Esposito, a professional life coach, will discuss “Inner Freedom: Make Your Mind Your Ally” at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 5. Registration is required at the library website, www.scarsdalelibrary.org or by calling the library at 914-722-1302.

Esposito, a Scarsdale resident, will explore the dynamic between the human imperative to play small and stay safe vs. the human desire to fully express and to add value to the lives of others. This is can be the unrecognized conflict that seems to sabotage even the best. The session will include learning how to decode the signs of energy conflict and competing commitments and then how to expand your capacity for action.

Esposito says fear is not a problem to overcome but rather fear is a companion to be understood and even embraced. Esposito is owner of the Center for Coaching Mastery at Westchester Community College, a nationally recognized author, and a collaborator with the National Football League and USA Football on youth sports health and safety. She works with the Eugene Lang Entrepreneurship College at Columbia Business School.
