More than 150 students from across the county have already registered for NYP/Lawrence Hospital’s first “Careers in Medicine” interactive workshop which will take place in Bronxville High School’s Blue Gym.

More than thirty NewYork-Presbyterian/Lawrence Hospital physicians, surgeons, pharmacists, therapists and other health workers will inspire tomorrow’s doctors by providing hands-on teaching experiences that will help students learn more about careers in the healthcare profession.

Students will watch exploratory videos and images of various surgeries and procedures, learn how to take vital signs, examine disease-causing organisms, discuss anatomic models and try out their CPR and intubation skills on mannequins set up throughout the Bronxville High School Blue Gymnasium.

Medical staff from a variety of specialties including surgery, anesthesia, cardiology, emergency medicine, pediatrics, sleep medicine, radiation oncology, orthopedics and obstetrics and gynecology will be present to educate students.

Students will collaborate with one another and connect with doctors and other medical staff individually to discover insights into their respective medical specialties.

Bronxville High School is at 177 Pondfield Rd. in Bronxville. Registration is required. To sign up, visit this link.
