Learn About Magna Carta's Influence In Scarsdale Library Program

SCARSDALE, N.Y. – Walter Johanson, a retired social studies teacher from Mount Vernon High School, will present “The Magna Carta and its Influence” at the Scarsdale Public Library on Monday, Nov. 2.

This year is the 800th anniversary of King John of England signing the Magna Carta. The document promised the protection of church rights, protection from illegal imprisonment of the barons, swift justice and limitations on feudal payments to the crown.

The presentation will start at 7:30 p.m.
