SCARSDALE, N.Y. -- Hoff-Barthelson Music School will hold a special Children’s Corner Concert, 'The Mighty Winds of Hoff-Barthelson,' on Friday, April 1, at the school in Scarsdale.
The concert, an introduction to the woodwind family of musical instruments for young children, will feature members of the school’s woodwind faculty demonstrating the full range of woodwind instruments – from the recorder and piccolo to the bassoon.
Designed to be educational, engaging and fun for children and their families, The Mighty Winds of Hoff-Barthelson will spark the imagination of the whole family through an exploration of the instruments and a sampling of each instrument’s repertoire.
Faculty performers will include Elly Ball, recorder; Joseph Piscitelli, flute; Donna Elaine, piccolo; Dorothy Duncan, clarinet and bass clarinet; Janet Grice, bassoon; and Betty Condon Fitzpatrick, oboe. And back by popular demand will be guest actor-singer Ron Spivak, who will narrate the story of The Mighty Winds of Hoff-Barthelson and lead the audience in song.
Audience participation will be encouraged. The concert is suitable for ages 5 and up and is free of charge
