Pelham Police Help Man Who Had a Heart Attack

PELHAM, N.Y. – Pelham police helped a man who apparently had a heart attack Tuesday afternoon.

The man’s son said his father had been complaining of shortness of breath. A few minutes later, he found his father slumped over on the couch and completely unresponsive, according to the police report.

Police laid the man on his back on the floor, cut off his shirt and began to administer CPR, the report said. They worked on the man for eight minutes before the fire department arrived.

Police said they continued to rotate administration of shocks, breaths and compressions. The man showed signs of labored breathing that grew stronger.

EMT and medics arrived and helped administer CPR. Workers placed the man on a stretcher and carried him to the elevator of the building. The man showed signs of breathing on his own and was transported to Sound Shore Medical Center.

- Officers transported two Dunkin' Donuts employees to headquarters for questioning after they got into a fight with each other at the store Tuesday morning, police said. Neither combatant wanted to press charges. Police sent them home from work.

- A woman left her garage door open and found her bicycle missing later that day. The bike in question is a black and white Trek bicycle worth approximately $450, according to the police report.
