Noted Pianist Among Ensemble To Perform In Scarsdale

SCARSDALE, N.Y. -- The Hoff-Barthelson Music School, of Scarsdale, continues its annual recital series with a performance on Sunday, Jan. 10, at the Greenville Community Church.

Pianist Eileen Buck is the featured artist of this evening of chamber music, which will include music by Beethoven, Stravinsky and Mendelssohn. The performance is part of the music school's HB Artist Series.

Buck will be joined by guest artists violinist John Dalley and cellist Nathan Vickery, in performances of Beethoven’s Sonata for Piano and Violin, Stravinsky’s Suite Italienne and Mendelssohn’s Piano Trio No. 1 in D minor.

Buck has performed as a recitalist, chamber musician and concerto soloist in the United States, Canada and Denmark. She is on the faculty of Mannes College, in the New School for Music Preparatory Division, and of the Hoff-Barthelson Music School, teaching piano and chamber music.

The 2015-2016 HB Artist Series features 19 recitals by faculty members in solo performance or with chamber ensembles composed of other faculty members and guest artists. The series is supported by ArtsWestchester, with support from Westchester County Government, and by the New York State Council on the Arts, with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.

Ticket prices vary:

  • $18 general admission
  • $15 for seniors 65 and older
  • free for HBMS students and students 18 and under.

Reduced rates are available for packages of three or 10 recitals.
