Detective Joseph Rutigliano said he and Sgt. Dominick Munofo went to a rear parking lot off Avalon Drive on Monday night and spotted both “reaching down, attempting to conceal something” as they approached the car.

The officers ordered the couple out and saw “several bags of heroin on the seats and floor and well as two syringes and other drug paraphernalia,” Rutigliano said.

Amanda Tukendorf of Wood-Ridge and Andrew Rizzo of Mountain Lakes were released on summonses charging them with possession of heroin, a syringe and drug paraphernalia.

Rizzo also received a summons for having drugs in a motor vehicle, Rutigliano said.
