SCARSDALE, N.Y. – Hundreds of costumed children will take over Scarsdale on Sunday, as the Parks and Recreation Department holds its annual Halloween Window Painting Contest.

From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., all youths enrolled in a private or public Scarsdale school in grades one through 10 will get the village ready for the holiday as they transform storefronts with their take on ghosts, pumpkins and all things spooky.

More than 600 children participated in the event last year, painting windows all over the village.

In addition to the window painting program, there will be a costume parade through the streets near Chase Park. The parade lineup will begin at 2:45 p.m. in front of the park, and the procession will start promptly at 3 p.m. All preschool and elementary school children are welcome to participate.
