Painting By Late Peter Diaferia Will Auction At Scarsdale Art Outdoor Show

SCARSDALE, N.Y. -- A watercolor painting by the late Peter Diaferia will be raffled off at the 63rd Annual Scarsdale Art Association Outdoor Show on Saturday, Sept. 13 and Sunday, Sept. 14 in Chase Park.

The 63rd Annual SAA Outdoor Art Show will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13 and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 14.

Raffle tickets are free to those who attend the show.

Diaferia, accompanied by his wife Grace, who now is also deceased, used to display his works in the rear right corner of the exhibition area.

Diaferia continued producing outstanding watercolors until the hospitalization that preceded his death.

Diaferia was a past president of SAA. He was a commercial artist who created graphics for many of the CBS network's TV shows, including the 1988 Calgary Olympics. He taught art in the adult education programs at Scarsdale and Mamaroneck. A generous father and friend to all who knew him, he was also proud to have served as a U.S. Marine.
