The historic venue will be celebrating that anniversary with a live concert from the Marshall Tucker Band with opening act Sundown, a historical slide show and an exhibition of vintage photos from the Paramount’s storied past, a special commemorative playbill for concert-goers, raffles and an auction for authenticated signed guitars from some of music’s biggest stars.

The Marshall Tucker Band will bring out all its classic hits for the Paramount’s 85th, from “Heard It In A Love Song,” “Can’t You See,” and “Fire On The Mountain,” to “Take The Highway” and more favorites.

For Paramount CEO Kurt Heitmann, head of Red House Entertainment LLC, which took over the operation of the theater in May of 2013, the celebration of the 85th anniversary milestone is deeply personal.

“I was born and raised in Peekskill. Keeping this beautiful theater alive and thriving is a calling and an honor,” Heitmann said in a press release.

Local businesses and organizations already are on board to celebrate this historic milestone for the city of Peekskill and the Hudson Valley. Confirmed sponsors include Alliant Insurance, D Bertoline & Sons, Croton Auto Park, N Dain & Sons, Franzoso Contracting and Energy Solutions, NY Presbyterian/Hudson Valley Hospital and Wheelabrator Technologies.

In addition to the live concert, festivities will include a red carpet reception starting at 5 p.m., with a special appearance from the Peekskill High School jazz ensemble led by band and music teacher John Hahn and a plaque presentation commemorating the anniversary of the Paramount Theater.

A number of autographed guitars will be raffled or auctioned at the event, all in support of local charitable organization Caring for the Homeless of Peekskill. An entry to win a guitar signed by the Marshall Tucker Band members automatically will be included with every purchase of Tier 1 tickets, with additional raffle entries available for purchase at the event.

Tickets cost $48 for Tier 1 and $35 for Tier 2. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit http://paramounthudsonvalley.com/events/event/marshall-tucker.
