In Photos: Hundreds Flock To Dobbs Ferry Festa

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – The atmosphere was festive Saturday afternoon as residents, vendors and musicians gathered on Cedar and Main Streets for the 10th annual Dobbs Ferry Festa.

The overcast sky kept temperatures cool while families strolled up and down the festival, playing games and sampling treats. Many local businesses set up shop outside on the street, bringing in customers in hopes that they would return.

The Festa originally began in the 1960s and '70s before it fell by the wayside. The annual outdoor festival was revived in 2002. Festa committee chair Paddy Steinschneider said the event was focused on celebrating the community.

Police blocked traffic to both main thoroughfares, increasing traffic in the village. Cars lined Route 9 and the Stop and Shop parking lot as more than 1,000 festival-goers flocked to the downtown area.
