NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - This weekend New Rochelle will be one of hundreds of cities across the country to participate in the Concert Across America to End Gun Violence .

For weeks, Scarsdale Assemblywoman Amy Paulin has been busy organizing local musical talent to participate in the nationwide event that will link more than 350 music concerts together through social media as the country finds itself at a crossroads following recent gun violence incidents involving law enforcement officials.

According to Paulin, “the national effort is aimed at drawing attention to the epidemic of gun violence that has claimed the lives of so many.” Sunday, Sept. 25 has also been designated as “A National Day of Remembrance of Murder Victims” by Congress.

The five-hour concert will begin at noon on Sunday at the Hudson Park Bandshell in New Rochelle. Artists scheduled to appear include the New Rochelle High School Choarale, Bookends Band, Blue Roadhouse Orchestra, Jim Murtagh, Skinny Blonde, Troubadour-to-Door and hip-hop artist Decora.

All of the live events will conclude with a nighttime concert at the Beacon Theater in Manhattan, featuring Jackson Browne, Rosanne Cash, Eddie Vedder, Marc Cohn and other artists.
