SCARSDALE, N.Y. -- Scarsdale Cycle, a fitness studio in Scarsdale, 303 Central Park Ave., recently partnered with the Greenburgh Nature Center for the kick off of its weekly “Milky Way” cycling classes.
The Milky Way Club, operated above Scarsdale Cycle from 1978-82, was considered one of the last true discotheques outside of New York City.
Scarsdale Cycle revitalized the Milky Way Club through this event while also giving back to the community.
Guests had the opportunity to make any size donation to the Greenburgh Nature Center and join instructors in an adventurous ride followed by a disco-themed after party.
The Greenburgh Nature Center also shared some of its small animals, including an owl, chinchilla and a tortoise, allowing guests to learn more about the Nature Center.
The Greenburgh Nature Center is a nature preserve with hiking trails, a pond, native plant meadow, and a variety of rescued and rehabilitated animals with a mission to ignite passion, curiosity and respect for the natural world.
The donations from the event were solely donated to the Greenburgh Nature Center. Scarsdale Cycle’s studio has 27 bikes and adjustable resistance bands that are both ceiling and floor mounted. Unlike traditional cycling studios, Scarsdale Cycle promises to provide its clients with a full-body workout experience like never before.
Scarsdale Cycle’s classes are an exciting, and intense, workout that lasts for an hour; the resistance band portion is implemented 20 minutes in for the length of a song and then again at the end of the ride for a song. For the month of April and May, one dollar of each bike booked at Scarsdale Cycle will be donated to the Greenburgh Nature Center.
