Each year, children, teams and families partner up to paint some of the finest pumpkins, ghouls, ghosts, black cats and other Halloween fan favorites directly on participating window fronts in the business district, giving the village a unique feel in advance of Oct. 31.

All youth in Grades 3-10 who attend any Scarsdale school are eligible for the window-painting contest. The parent-child collaborations are not officially in the competition and are designed for students in first and second grade.

All entries will be awarded with participation ribbons.

Last year, nearly 1,000 residents participated in the popular seasonal contest that brings out the artist in every village resident. In addition to the window painting, there will be a costume parade held in the streets surrounding Chase Park
