SCARSDALE, N.Y. -- The Scarsdale Parks and Recreation Department will be having its annual Halloween window painting contest and parent/child Halloween window painting program will be Oct. 20.
All youths who reside in or attend public or private schools in Scarsdale in Grades 3–10 are eligible to participate in the window painting event.
The Scrasdale Chamber of Commerce will co-sponsor the event and provide the $100 award to the grand prize winner. Winners will be honored at an awards night in November. The entry fee is $14 for individual or $20 for two people.
The deadline to participate is Oct. 10. As windows are limited, registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Please register online . For questions, call 914-722-1160.
The parent/child window painting is not a contest and is open to all first- and second-grade children who reside in or attend public or private schools in Scarsdale. All participants will receive a ribbon upon completion of the painting with a Halloween theme. The entry fee is $20.
After school on Oct. 31 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., there will be a costume parade in the village streets by Chase Park. The parade line up begins at 3:30 p.m. in front of Chase Park and start at 3:45 p.m. Special entertainment and refreshments will be provided after the parade. All Pre-K and elementary school children are welcome to participate in the parade.
Please note the parade will not be the same day as window painting day as in past years.
