The library is holding an ongoing Friday Writers Center Critique Group, which will be held at 9:30 a.m.

The dates are as follows: Jan. 30, Feb. 6, Feb. 13, Feb. 27, March 13, April 10, April 24 and May 8.

Freelance writer Barbara Solomon Josselsohn will moderate the group, which is for prospective writers interested in penning fiction, memoirs or poetry. Josselsohn has a regular column in the Scarsdale Inquirer and has written for a handful of national publications.

The library will screen “The Auction” on Wednesday, Feb. 11, and Friday, Feb. 13.

The 2013 French film, screened with English subtitles, concerns a farm owner whose daughter appears suddenly and in need of money after living in the city. His sacrifices for the sake of his family drive the story forward.

The library's new “What Scarsdale Is Reading” series is ongoing, as readers are invited to check out hard and electronic copies of Marilyn Johnson's "Lives in Ruins: Archaeologists and the Seductive Lure of Human Rubble."

The series will be capped off with a wine and cheese reception on March 9 at 7 p.m. with Johnson in attendance.

The library is at 54 Olmsted Road. More information is available at the library's website, scarsdalelibrary.org.
