Scarsdale Library Announces Upcoming Events

SCARSDALE, N.Y. -- The Scarsdale Library will be holding several events, including book discussions, music and more.

  • Nancy’s Book Group, led by Nancy Zachary, will discuss “The Girls of Atomic City” by Denise Kiernan at the Scarsdale Public Library on Wednesday, March 18, at 1 p.m. The New York Times bestseller tells the incredible true story of the top-secret World War II town of Oak Ridge, Tenn., and the young women brought there unknowingly to help build the atomic bomb. Registration is required at the library’s main desk or by calling 914-722-1300. On April 15, Nancy’s Book Group will discuss “Faithful Place” by Tara French. 
  • It’s Dr. Seuss’s birthday month and the Scarsdale Public Library is having a spectacular Seussical celebration with the popular Miss Gigi and the Lend Me a Hand Band with Seuss songs and fun on Saturday, March 14 at 10:30 a.m.  
  • Robert the Guitar Guy brings his special brand of music to the library on Tuesday, March 10, at 10 a.m. Robert and his repertoire of more than 75 songs entertains young children up to age 5 as he conveys his delight in musical expression. At 4 p.m., the weekly Traditional Tuesday Storytime will feature stories and rhymes designed specifically for ages 3 1/2-5. 
  • On Thursday, March 12, the weekly Mother Goose for Walkers Up to Age Two will be held at 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Mother Goose for Walkers is limited to the first 20 appropriately aged children. Attendees must have a ticket which are distributed on a first come, first served basis to Scarsdale cardholders in the Children’s Room half an hour before the start of each session. Children are limited to attend one session of Mother Goose per week.  Mother Goose for Pre-Walkers, a program of rhymes, songs and stories for infants who are not yet walking will be held Friday, March 13, at 9 a.m. Reservations are not required.
