SCARSDALE, N.Y. -- Two book groups for adults are scheduled to hold their monthly sessions in the coming weeks at the Scarsdale Public Library.

Not Your Kids Book Club for Adults, the group for those interested in what young adults are reading, will discuss “The War That Saved My Life” by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley on Wednesday at 1 p.m.

Set in World War II England, Bradley tells the story of 9-year- old Ada, who has never left her one-room apartment because her mother is too humiliated by Ada’s twisted foot to let her outside. When Ada’s little brother Jamie is shipped out of London to escape the war, she sneaks out to join him in the home of a woman who is forced to take them in. The story unfolds as the three’s bond is tested by the war.

The monthly adult book club that discusses books with the theme this year of “Words Around the World,” will meet Saturday, June 18, at 11 a.m. and Monday, June 20, at 7 p.m.

Led by Wendy Archer, the library’s adult services manager, the group will discuss “Fall on Your Knees” by Ann-Marie MacDonald.

Set on stormy Cape Breton Island off Nova Scotia, “Fall on Your Knees” is an internationally acclaimed multigenerational saga that chronicles the lives of four sisters. Theirs is a world filled with driving ambition, inescapable family bonds and forbidden love.

To register for either group and reserve a copy of the book go to the library website, , or call the Reference Desk at 914-722- 1302.
