Scarsdale Library Features Programs for Children

SCARSDALE, N.Y. -- The upcoming week of children’s programs at the Scarsdale Public Library will kick off on Monday, June 6, with Yoga Tots at 10:30 a.m. in the library's Scott Room.

Yoga Tots is for children ages 2 ½ - 5. The program is taught by Certified Kids Yoga Instructors from "Budding Buddhas" Children's Yoga. It combines traditional yoga poses and engaging songs to build motor skills, confidence and relaxation skills.

Parents and caregivers participate in the fun. Registration is required for the Yoga Tots program. Click here to register.

At 4 p.m., the same day, Make it Monday, an advanced crafts program for children ages 7 and up, will be held in the library's Scott Room. Registration is required. Click here to register. 

Chi-Chi Bestmann will bring her viola and violin for preschool children in another performance of Petite Concerts on Tuesday, June 7, at 10:30 a.m. Registration is not required for this program, which will take place in the library's Scott Room.

At 4 p.m., that day, the weekly Storytime will feature stories and rhymes designed specifically for children ages 3 ½ - 5. Registration is not required for this program, which will take place in the library's Children's Room.

The weekly Mother Goose for Walkers will take place on Thursday, June 9, at 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. in the library's Children's Room. The program is for babies who are walking up to age 2. This language enrichment program uses rhymes, songs and stories to stimulate listening, learning, speaking and reading skills.

At 4 p.m., the same day, Drop-in- Crafts for children ages 3 ½ to 7, will be held in the library's Scott Room. Each session has a theme, such as creating animals, using paper, paint and markers.

Mother Goose for Pre-Walkers, a program of rhymes, songs and stories for infants who are not yet walking, will be held Friday, June 10, at 9:30 a.m. Reservations are not required for this program, which will be held in the library's Children's Room.

The week concludes with Sunday Yogis, on June 12, at 1 p.m. with Sunday Yogis, a program for active children ages 4 - 7, including those with special needs. All abilities are welcome. The program will be held in the library's Scott Room.
