SCARSDALE, N.Y. -- The Scarsdale Public Library is seeking donations of books until Aug. 23 for its annual book sale in September.

Donations should be left inside the gray door at the side of the library, 54 Olmsted Road at Route 22. The library is seeking almost-new and out-of-print books, including bestsellers, classics, biographies, fiction, parenting, cooking, art, computers, humor, self-help, drama, religion, business and poetry.

Books for children, as well as DVDs, CDs, books on tape and sheet music also are welcome. Please do not drop off damaged, moldy or dog-chewed books. Also unwelcome are textbooks, encyclopedias and magazines.

Last year, there were more than 60,000 books on sale and the event raised almost $50,000 for the library.

This year’s book sale will begin on Sept. 6 with a  “Friends” preview from 7-9 p.m. New members can join at the door for $25. The sale will continue until Sept. 15. For more information, contact Kathy Steves at Steves10583@gmail.com.
