Scarsdale Organizations Host Events For Adults

SCARSDALE, N.Y. --  The Scarsdale community will be holding a variety of events for parents and adults to attend throughout the area. 

A schedule of events is below. 

Parent to Parent Support Groups for Raising Kids who have mood, anxiety and/or depression: Thursday, Feb. 6 is for parents of post high school, Wednesday, Feb. 12 is for school age children. Scarsdale Adult School Spring/Summer Registration is open. New parent/child fun for families activities, more SAT and ACT preparation courses, and many more technology/mobile device/internet offerings. To view all SAS offerings and to enroll for classes, visit www.ScarsdaleAdultSchool.org.

The Scarsdale Center for Innovation: SCI is hosting a seminar, "Super Foods and Hydration: How the Foods We Eat Affect Human Performance" at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 4, in the Little Theatre at SHS. The program will feature the latest information on how the foods we eat affect how our brains and bodies perform. Registration required. 

Scarsdale School Board Seeks Nominating Committee (SBNC): The SNBC is seeking candidates for nomination to the Scarsdale Board of Education.  Two seats are available.  A candidate must be at least 18 years old, a U.S. citizen, a qualified voter, and a resident of the Scarsdale school district for at least one year prior to the May 20th school board election date. Candidates should complete a biographical information form and submit it by email to the SBNC Chair, John Clapp, at sbncchair@gmail.com by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 25. Forms are available at www.scarsdalesbnc.com.

Adult Mah Jongg Day: Location: The Center at 862. Date/Time: Sunday, March 30, Two sessions, 10 a.m. to noon or 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Cost: $50.  To register, call 914-722-8358.  Lunch served from noon to 2:30 p.m.
