The Not Your Kids Book Club featuring “The Scorpio Races” by Maggie Stiefvater will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 14, at 1 p.m. in the Jaffin Room. The book tells the story of Puck Connolly, the first girl who unwillingly decides to take part in The Scorpio Races, a game where riders try to hold on to their water horses long enough to make it to the finish line – alive.

The 2014 Chilean film, “To Kill a Man” will be screened on Wednesday, Jan. 14, at 6:30 p.m. and on Jan. 16 at 1:30 p.m. in the Scott Room.

It tells the story of Jorge, a family man who is mugged by Kalule, a neighborhood delinquent. Jorge's son decides to confront Kalule, only to get himself shot in the process. Kalule is sentenced to two years in prison and he is released with the intent to seek revenge on Jorge’s family, causing Jorge to take justice into his own hands. The film won the Grand Jury Award at the Sundance Film Festival. It runs for 81 minutes in Spanish with English subtitles.
