Scarsdale Woman's Club Event Discusses Economic Development

SCARSDALE, N.Y. -- Attracting businesses and residents to Scarsdale will be the focus of the next meeting of the Scarsdale Woman's Club on Wednesday, March 16. 

Westchester County's William M. Mooney III, director of the Office of Economic Development, will be a guest speaker during the next meeting of the Scarsdale Woman's Club.

William M. Mooney III, director of Westchester County's Office of Economic Development, and Ned McCormack, county communications director, will speak during the meeting at 2 pm. 

Mooney, who has been has been part of County Executive Rob Astorino's administration since 2010, will discuss economic development trends occurring in the county and the reasons businesses choose to stay or relocate to Westchester. Mooney will also review various resources, services, and incentives available through the County's Industrial Development Agency and Local Development Corporation to attract and retain businesses in Westchester. 

McCormack, a senior adviser to Astorino, will provide an overview of the county executive's governing philosophy, provide some context to the financial challenges facing the county, and discuss the ongoing "Safer Communities" initiative.
