Scarsdale's Hoff-Barthelson Festival Orchestra Performs Winter Concert

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- The Hoff-Barthelson Music School Festival Orchestra Winter Concert, “Life in the Country” is set for Saturday, Dec. 12, at 7 p.m.at the Community Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 468 Rosedale Avenue in White Plains.

Ida Kavafian, a violinist from Scarsdale, will be the featured guest artist.

Jun Nakabayashi, music director for the Festival Orchestra, will conduct.

Included on the program are Chabrier's Danse Villageoise from Suite Pastorale; Mozart's lively Violin Concerto No. 4 in D Major, K, 218, with Kavafian as soloist; Bartók's "Hungarian Peasant Songs"; and Beethoven's "Symphony No. 6 in F Major, Opus 68,"Pastoral". 

The Festival Orchestra, comprising high school students, presents five full symphonic concerts each year.

There is a suggested admission of $18 for adults. Students may attend free of charge.
