WESTPORT, Conn. Kids ages 6-15 can try their hand at the triathlon Saturday at Staples High School. The third annual Strong Kids Triathlon sponsored by the Westport Weston Family Y begins at 8:30 a.m. There also is a 100-yard dash for children ages 3-6.
Children ages 10-15 start at 8:30 a.m. with a 150-yard swim, 2.5-mile bike ride and 1-mile run. Children ages 6-9 start at 9 a.m. wth a 75-yard swim, 1.25-mile bike ride and half-mile run.
The pre-registration fee is $25. Race-day registration is $35 and begins at 7:30 a.m. Children must be registered by 8 a.m. to participate. The 100-yard dash for children ages 3-6 begin at 9:30 a.m.
Online registration is available at www.westporty.org. Contestants also can register at the Family Y Member Services Desk, 59 Post Road East, Westport, through 4 p.m. on Thursday.
