SCARSDALE, N.Y. – A children’s story hour, a Planning Board meeting and vocal jazz concert highlight some of the events happening around Scarsdale this week.

Monday. Dec. 17

Mommy and Me Yoga: 10:30 a.m. A yoga practice for moms and their pre-crawling infants that addresses the needs of a new mom's body, mind and spirit. Moms can rebuild strength, flexibility and regain tone in the abdominal area. Exercises in breathing and relaxation techniques. 54 Olmsted Road, Scarsdale.

Book Club: 7 p.m. Fifth- and sixth-grade students will discuss “Out of My Mind,” by Sharon Draper. 54 Olmsted Road, Scarsdale.

Jazz Vocal Concert: 7:30 p.m. Eighteen jazz singers from Sarah Lawrence College will perform jazz favorites. 1 Mead Way, Yonkers.

Architectural Review: 7:30 p.m. The Scarsdale Board of Architectural Review will host its only meeting of the month at Village Hall. 1001 Post Road, Scarsdale.

Tuesday, Dec. 18

Musical youth theatre winter registration: 8 a.m. Kids in kindergarten through sixth-grade can be in a musical production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. $150. 133 Popham Road, Scarsdale.

Story time: 4 p.m. This weekly story hour is designed for children ages three through five at the Scarsdale Public Library. 54 Olmsted Road, Scarsdale.

Slow Flow yoga: 6 p.m. A gentle, restorative and therapeutic yoga class at Yoga Haven in Tuckahoe. A welcoming class for beginners. $22. 62 Main St., Tuckahoe.

Primitive Mysteries: 7:30 p.m. Sarah Lawrence College dance students will perform Martha Graham’s 1031 masterpiece under the direction of Maxine Sherman. 1 Mead Way, Yonkers.

Wednesday, Dec. 19

GOP Meeting: 8 p.m. The Scarsdale GOP will have its monthly meeting at Village Hall. 1001 Post Road, Scarsdale.

Planning Board: 8 p.m. The Scarsdale Planning Board will meet to discuss the findings of the Law Committee regarding the placement of emergency generators in the village. 1001 Post Road, Scarsdale.

Thursday, Dec. 20

Mother Goose Walkers: 10:30 a.m. This program of songs, rhymes and books is designed for children up to age 2. Scarsdale Public Library, 54 Olmsted Road, Scarsdale.

La Leche League Meeting: 5 to 7 p.m. La Leche League offers breastfeeding information and mother-to-mother support in a forum of open-ended discussions on mothering through breastfeeding and related aspects of birth, nutrition and parenting. All women interested in breastfeeding, babies and children are welcome. Membership is not required to attend. June 20 topic is: "So that's what they're for: The ABCs of breastfeeding and mothering."
