What To Do Around Scarsdale This Weekend

SCARSDALE, N.Y. – There is a wide schedule of events planned around Scarsdale this week. Enjoy a free candy tasting at Imagine Candy on Saturday or celebrate Columbus Day in Eastchester all weekend. See our Events Page for a complete list of local and county events.

Friday, Oct. 5

Sidewalk sale: 10 a.m. The Bronxville Fall Sidewalk Sale will be held in the village. Free parking will be provided in the Kraft and Garden Avenue lot. The sale will continue on Saturday. 800 Post Road, Bronxville.

Mother Goose Walkers: 10:30 a.m. This program of songs, rhymes and books is designed for children up to age 2 at the Scarsdale Public Library. 54 Olmsted Road, Scarsdale.  

Free crafts for kids: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Lakeshore Learning Store will host its weekly free day of crafts for children. Use art materials in a guided project that changes each session. 969-A Central Park Ave., Scarsdale.

Columbus Day carnival: 6 to 11 p.m. The Columbus Day celebration will begin at Lake Isle Country Club, featuring a DJ and opening night dance party. 660 White Plains Road, Eastchester. 

Music at the park: 9:30 p.m. Park 143 Bistro showcases artists in various music genres. This week will feature R&B vocalist and guitarist Keith Robinson. Guests will receive a complimentary Park Bellini. 143 Parkway Road, Bronxville.

Saturday, Oct. 6

Farmers Market: 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The Scarsdale Farmers Market returns. Scarsdale Village Merchant Parking Lot. 

Fun with frogs: 11 a.m. Learn about frogs and their natural habitat, play games and meet live frogs from the Weinberg Nature Center at the Scarsdale Public Library. 54 Olmsted Road, Scarsdale.

Chocolate and candy tasting: 11 a.m. Imagine Candy is offering tastings of candy and chocolate. The shop carries hundreds of candies by the pound, and each week there will be a selection available for tasting. 22 Harwood Court, Scarsdale.

Columbus Day carnival: 1 to 11 p.m. The Columbus Day celebrations continue with live Italian music by The Next Step at 6 p.m., followed by a wine and meatball contest at 6:30 p.m. 660 White Plains Road, Eastchester.

Sunday, Oct. 7

Columbus Day celebration: 1 to 11 p.m. The annual parade will begin at 3:30 p.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church parking lot and will travel up Main Street and Route 22, ending at Lake Isle. There will be a fireworks display at 9 p.m. 660 White Plains Road, Eastchester.

Interfaith movie: 2:30 p.m. A movie presented by the American Muslim Women’s Association about a deaf teen that is introduced to American Sign Language. A discussion will follow, led by Tahani Salah. 54 Olmsted Road, Scarsdale.
