What To Do Around Scarsdale This Weekend

SCARSDALE, N.Y. – A workshop on willpower, a night of the Sabbath song, wine tasting and an anniversary party are among the events scheduled in Scarsdale this weekend.

Friday, Jan. 25

Mother Goose for Tots: 9:30 a.m. This program of songs, rhymes and books is designed for children up to age 2. Scarsdale Library, 54 Olmsted Road, Scarsdale.

Willpower Workshop: 10:30 a.m. Dr. Caren Baruch-Feldman will help Scarsdale residents keep their New Year’s Resolutions by using the latest research in the field. 54 Olmsted Road, Scarsdale.

Legomania!: 2 to 4 p.m. The Scarsdale Public Library will have Legos and Duplos available for young children to build anything their imagination dreams up. 54 Olmsted Road, Scarsdale.

Organic, From Kitchen to Vineyard: 7:30 p.m. There will be a food tasting paired with a variety of wines. $49. 10 Palmer Ave., Scarsdale.

Shabbat Shirah: 7:45 p.m. The Westchester Reform Temple’s annual Shabbat Shirah will feature Rabbi Dario Feiguin and musicians from his synagogue in Buenos Aires. 255 Mamaroneck Road, Scarsdale.

Wine tasting: 8 p.m. The Bronxville Women’s Club has been chosen as the only location for a wine tasting musical. Audience members will be a part of the play as they see, swirl, smell and sip six different wines. $20. 135 Midland Ave., Bronxville.

Music at the Park: 9:30 p.m. Park 143 Bistro will showcase guest artist John James playing rock and soul. Guests will receive a free Park Bellini. 143 Parkway Road, Bronxville.

Saturday, Jan. 26

Babies and Bagels: 9:15 a.m. This informal drop-in playgroup is for babies and toddlers with their moms, dads, caregivers and grandparents. All are welcome. No fee. Westchester Reform Temple, 255 Mamaroneck Road, Scarsdale.

Children’s Art Class: 9:45 a.m. Children ages 3 to 5 can gain confidence in self-expression through painting, sculpting, drawing, collage, dramatic play and more at Gymboree. 450 Central Park Ave., Greenburgh.

Anniversary party: 7 p.m. Yoga Haven 2 will toast its first year in the village with hors d’oeuvres, drinks and live music. 91 Montgomery Ave., Scarsdale.

Vintage Kings Band: 9:30 p.m. The Vintage Kings Band will perform live at J.C. Fogarty’s in Bronxville. 60 Kraft Ave., Bronxville.

Sunday, Jan. 27

Coffee Hour: 11:30 a.m. The Scarsdale Congregational Church hosts a coffee hour every Sunday after services. It is a chance to catch up with friends and neighbors, and meet new ones. All ages are welcome. 1 Heathcote Road, Scarsdale.
