SCARSDALE, N.Y. – A free candy tasting, the third annual Friends of the Scarsdale Library Spelling Bee and several children’s programs highlight the events scheduled in Scarsdale this weekend.
Friday, Feb. 1
Mother Goose for Tots: 9:30 a.m. This program of songs, rhymes and books is designed for children up to age 2. Scarsdale Library, 54 Olmsted Road, Scarsdale.
Candy Tasting: 11 a.m. Imagine Candy will host a free chocolate and candy tasting for residents. 22 Harwood Court, Scarsdale.
Spelling Bee: 7:30 p.m. The Friends of the Scarsdale Library will host the third annual adult and teen spelling bee in the Scarsdale High School Auditorium. 54 Olmsted Road, Scarsdale.
Music at the Park: 9:30 p.m. Park 143 Bistro will showcase guest artist John James playing rock and soul. Guests will receive a free Park Bellini. 143 Parkway Road, Bronxville.
Saturday, Feb. 2
Food Drive: 9 a.m. The annual Bronxville School Food Drive will continue through Feb. 6. Proceeds will go to the Food Bank of Westchester. 177 Pondfield Road, Bronxville.
Babies and Bagels: 9:15 a.m. This informal drop-in playgroup is for babies and toddlers with their moms, dads, caregivers and grandparents. All are welcome. No fee. Westchester Reform Temple, 255 Mamaroneck Road, Scarsdale.
Children’s Art Class: 9:45 a.m. Children ages 3 to 5 can gain confidence in self-expression through painting, sculpting, drawing, collage, dramatic play and more at Gymboree. 450 Central Park Ave., Greenburgh.
Musical Adventures: 11 a.m. Concordia Conservatory presents “Henry and the Humbug,” a concert for children. $15. 171 White Plains Road, Bronxville.
Sunday, Feb. 3
Coffee Hour: 11:30 a.m. The Scarsdale Congregational Church hosts a coffee hour every Sunday after services. The first Sunday of the month is Children’s Day. It is a chance to catch up with friends and neighbors, and meet new ones. All ages are welcome. 1 Heathcote Road, Scarsdale.
