What To Do Around Scarsdale This Week

SCARSDALE, N.Y. – New Year’s Eve celebrations, a Jewish film and an informational meeting about the 2013 JCC Maccabi Games are among the events planned in Scarsdale this week.

Monday, Dec. 31

New Year’s Eve luncheon: Noon. A Chinese buffet luncheon from Oriental Palace will be offered at the Bronxville Women’s Club. Watch celebrations from Australia, Japan and other countries as they ring in 2013. $20 for members; $25 for nonmembers. 135 Midland Ave., Bronxville.

New Year’s at Growlers: 4 p.m. Growler’s Beer Bistro will open at 4 p.m. with its regular menu. There will be two dinner seatings, at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m., and a champagne toast at midnight. 25 Main St., Tuckahoe.

Tuesday, Jan. 1

New Year’s Day: Scarsdale Village Hall and the public library will be closed for the holiday.

Wednesday, Jan. 2

Schools Open: Scarsdale schools will open their doors to students at the conclusion of winter recess.

Musical Theater Registration: Students in kindergarten through sixth grade can be registered to participate in a rendition of "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" at the Quaker Meeting House. $150. 133 Popham Road, Scarsdale.

Thursday, Jan. 3

Mother Goose Walkers: 10:30 a.m. This program of songs, rhymes and books is designed for children up to age 2. Scarsdale Public Library, 54 Olmsted Road, Scarsdale.

Hadassah Film Festival: 7 p.m. The Westchester Region of Hadassah will present the third of four films in the Jewish Women Changing the Worlds Series. 54 Olmsted Road, Scarsdale.
