What To Do Around Scarsdale This Weekend

SCARSDALE, N.Y. – A free candy tasting, a spaghetti cabaret and a yoga class are among the events scheduled in Scarsdale this weekend.

Friday, Feb. 8

Babies and Bagels: 9:15 a.m. This informal drop-in playgroup is for babies and toddlers with their moms, dads, caregivers and grandparents. All are welcome. No fee. Westchester Reform Temple, 255 Mamaroneck Road, Scarsdale.

Mother Goose for Tots: 9:30 a.m. This program of songs, rhymes and books is designed for children up to age 2. Scarsdale Library, 54 Olmsted Road, Scarsdale.

Children’s Art Class: 9:45 a.m. Children ages 3 to 5 can gain confidence in self-expression through painting, sculpting, drawing, collage, dramatic play and more at Gymboree. 450 Central Park Ave., Greenburgh.

Candy Tasting: 11 a.m. Imagine Candy will host a free chocolate and candy tasting for residents. 22 Harwood Court, Scarsdale.

Anne Hutchinson Chapter: 1 p.m. Mary Huber, a past Bronxville historian, will present “an army nurse being at the front in World War I.” 201 Pondfield Road, Bronxville.

Parents Night Out: 6 p.m. Drop off your children at Gymboree for an evening of fun and pizza. $25. 450 Central Park Ave., Greenburgh.

Spaghetti Cabaret: 7 p.m. Enjoy the energetic singers from PiPE DREAM Theatre as they sing popular songs. There will be a casual spaghetti supper before the show. $20. 135 Midland Ave., Bronxville.

Music at the Park: 9:30 p.m. Park 143 Bistro will showcase guest artist John James playing rock and soul. Guests will receive a free Park Bellini. 143 Parkway Road, Bronxville.

Saturday, Feb. 9

Poker Tournament: 5 p.m. Participate in the Louis Bellantoni Memorial Poker Tournament and Casino Night at the Bronxville Woman’s Club to raise money for a scholarship. $100. 135 Midland Ave., Bronxville.

Sunday, Feb. 10

Coffee Hour: 11:30 a.m. The Scarsdale Congregational Church hosts a coffee hour every Sunday after services. The first Sunday of the month is Children’s Day. It is a chance to catch up with friends and neighbors, and meet new ones. All ages are welcome. 1 Heathcote Road, Scarsdale.

Yoga-A-Go-Go: 1:30 p.m. A yoga class for children with special needs. Designed to help a child with focus and balance, as well as with self-acceptance and confidence. Traditional yoga poses have been modified into a playful, non-judgmental format for fun and relaxation. Scarsdale Library, 54 Olmsted Road, Scarsdale.

A.G. Gurney’s Love Letters: 2 p.m. Friends of the Eastchester Public Library will present M&M Productions Acting Company. Tickets will become available on Feb. 6. 11 Oakridge Place, Eastchester.
