What's Happening Around Scarsdale This Week?

SCARSDALE, N.Y. – Several new camps are opening in Scarsdale this week at the Jewish Community Center of Mid-Westchester. See our Events page for a complete list of local and county events.

Monday, Aug. 13

Weekly Musical Camp: 9 a.m. Weekly Drama Musical Day Camps are still going strong. Now is the time to ensure your child will be actively engaged until school starts. This week, students in grades kindergarten through seven will be learning and performing “The Little Mermaid” and “Aladdin.” 133 Popham Road, Scarsdale.

Baseball camp: 9 a.m. The 3up 3down Baseball Clinic will begin at the Jewish Community Center of Mid-Westchester. Children can learn the fundamentals of baseball and are grouped based on age and ability. Bring a lunch, bathing suit and baseball glove to the JCC. $375. 999 Wilmot Road, Scarsdale.

Experienced Dance Mini Camp: 9 a.m. The Jewish Community Center of Mid-Westchester is holding a camp for experienced dance students. There will be a comprehensive curriculum of dance and dance-related classes. $75 for campers entering grade 7 or higher. 999 Wilmot Road, Scarsdale.

Cheer Tumbling Camp: 9 a.m. This camp is for those who want to learn to tumble for their school cheerleading squad or an All-Star team. Cartwheels, round-offs, back handsprings and back tucks are just the beginning of the skills that will be taught with proper progression. Jumps and conditioning will also be included in each class. Held at the Jewish Community Center of Mid-Westchester. $75 for campers entering grade 7 or higher. 999 Wilmot Road, Scarsdale.

Tuesday, Aug. 14

Storytime at the library: 4 p.m. The Scarsdale Public Library will host a story hour for children ages 3 to 5. 54 Olmstead Road, Scarsdale.

Trustees meeting: 8 p.m. The Scarsdale Village Board of Trustees will hold its regular meeting at Village Hall. See agenda here. 1001 Post Road, Scarsdale.

Thursday, Aug. 16

Mother Goose Walkers: 10:30 a.m. This program of songs, rhymes and books is designed for children up to age 2 at the Scarsdale Public Library. 54 Olmsted Road, Scarsdale.
