Monday, Sept. 10
Book Sale: 11 a.m. The Friends of the Scarsdale Library is hosting its annual book sale to boost funds. More than 60,000 books will be available. 54 Olmsted Road, Scarsdale.
Social needlers: 11 a.m. to noon. Bring in a needlecraft project to work on while getting to know fellow handicrafters. This is a social hour; no formal instruction will be given. Bronxville Public Library, 201 Pondfield Road, Bronxville.
“Hairspray” auditions: 6 p.m. Rising Stars PAC is holding open auditions for children ages 8 through 18 to perform the popular musical. 600 N. Broadway, Yonkers.

Patriot Day: Remember those who were lost.

Childbirth class: 7:30 p.m. Childbirth classes offered for expectant parents. Parents can attend class on three consecutive Tuesdays, or complete the entire session on a single Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The class costs $200 per couple. Lawrence Hospital, 55 Palmer Ave., Bronxville.
