Everything you need, want, or could have imagined dipped, coated, or filled with chocolate is available at Chocolate Works Scarsdale where Manager Sofia Pell estimates more than 300 pounds of chocolate will be made -- and sold. The holiday is typically the store's busiest single retail day.
Among the top sellers: Chocolate-covered strawberries, chocolate hearts, truffles and anything sold in one of the store's heart-shaped boxes.
All chocolate, except those made with nuts, are produced in the Willy Wonka-like area in the back, parts of which are visible from the register.
Pell said it's been busy already but the few days leading up to Feb. 14, as well as Valentine's Day itself, are usually the most hectic. The store is open its regular hours from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday but will stay open as long as folks are still there.
Chocolate Works Scarsdale is located at 450 Central Park Ave., (914) 713-8879, www.chocolateworks.com/.
